The UGC NET Application Correction Link has been activated on 14th May 2025. Candidates who had submitted the UGC NET application form can make use of this facility to make corrections in their applications. The last date for the same is 15th May 2025. The UGC NET Application Form 2025 for the June Session closed on 12th May 2025. The National Testing Agency has released the notification for the UGC NET June 2025 Session. Candidates with a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks can fill out the Application Form for UGC NET Exam on the official NTA website. The UGC NET Application Portal has been activated on 16th April 2025 for the June 2025 cycle. Applicants can check important dates for the UGC NET 2025 application form submission, application correction, etc., below:

How to Fill Out the UGC NET Application Form 2025?

The UGC NET June 2025 Application Form must be submitted online. For this, you will need to register on the website and create a login ID and password. After logging in, you will need to fill out the application form, pay the application fee, and upload any required documents. Once you have completed all the steps, you can submit your application and wait for further instructions from the NTA. Below are the detailed steps to apply online.

Step 1: Visit the UGC NET Application Portal

For UGC NET registration, candidates first need to visit the official website of the exam. Under the 'Latest News' section click on the 'UGC NET June 2025 Registration Link'. The link will redirect you to the application portal.

Step 2: Generate OTP

Click on the 'New Candidate Registration' link at the bottom of the page. A new page, listing the instructions and prerequisites, will be displayed. Read these details carefully and select the check box to proceed. Another page will appear for identity verification. Read the instructions and choose the identity verification option. Enter the required details such as your Aadhar Number, and generate the OTP. The OTP will be sent to your mobile number linked with the Aadhar Card. Verify the OTP to proceed.

Step 3: Fill Out the UGC NET Registration Form

After Aadhar Verification, the UGC NET Registration Form June 2025 will be displayed. Basic details like your name, date of birth, and gender will be auto filled based on your Aadhar details. Proceed to fill out the registration form with personal details, address and contact information,. At this stage, you will also be required to create a password and security questions for your candidate account.

Step 4: Complete the UGC NET Application Form Fill Up

Candidates must click the button "Complete Application Form" to begin filling out the form's remaining fields. Included in the information required on the UGC NET application form.

Step 5: Upload Images and Signature

Candidates need to upload their scanned images and signature as per the specifications mentioned in the table below. The scanned images and signature should be in JPEG format.

Step 6: Pay UGC NET Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay the UGC NET Application Fee to successfully submit their application forms. The application fee should be paid online through SBI/HDFC/Syndicate/ICICI/Paytm payment gateway (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI).

Step 7: Download the Confirmation Page

After you have successfully paid the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated. Candidates need to take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it for future reference. With this, your UGC NET application form fill-up will be completed. 

Documents Required for Filling UGC NET Online Application Form

To avoid any trouble at the time of UGC NET registrations, candidates are advised to keep the following documents ready beforehand:

• Copy of Board/University Certificate
• Identity proof such as Aadhaar Card Number/Voter ID Card Number/ Other Govt ID
• Qualifying Degree Certificate or last semester marks sheet
• Mailing address as well as Permanent Address with Pin Code
• Four cities for Centres of your choice (as indicated in the notification)
• Code of NET Subject applying for (as mentioned in the notification)
• Code of subject at Post Graduation level (according to the notification)
• Code of Post-Graduation Course
• Category Certificate, if applicable
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate, if applicable

Eligibility Requirements Before Filling UGC NET Application Form

To successfully submit the UGC NET Online Form and to be eligible to appear for the exam, it is mandatory for the candidates that they fulfil the UGC NET Eligibility requirements. These include age limit, qualifications, etc. 

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should secure at least 55% marks in the master’s degree exam. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Other Backward Class (OBC)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category is given a relaxation of 5% marks. In addition, candidates with a 4-year graduation, with at least 75% aggregate (70% for reserved categories), can also apply for the UGC NET exam. Such candidates will only be eligible for PhD admissions and JRF positions.

Age Limit to Fill UGC NET Form for JRF 

According to the UGC NET notification, applicants for the Junior Research Fellowship have to be older than 30 years. Although there is no upper age limit for applicants seeking assistant professor positions.

Age Limit for Assistant Professor 

Passing the NET/SET/SLET is a requirement for the minimum eligibility requirement for hiring and maintaining the positions of assistant professors in universities and institutions. UGC regulations and revisions shall establish the requirements for exemption from NET, SET, and SLET as they change over time and are published in the Indian Gazette. Furthermore, individuals who successfully passed the UGC/CSIR/JRF examination before September 1989 are also exempt from the requirement to appear in the NET.

Age Relaxation for UGC NET Application

Below are the age relaxation provisions for the UGC NET/JRF exam, aligned with UGC norms established by the Indian government:

1. Candidates falling under categories such as SC/ST/OBC/Female/PwD/Third Gender are entitled to a maximum age relaxation of 5 years.
2. Research scholars can receive age relaxation of up to five years, contingent upon the duration dedicated to research pursuits.
3. LLM candidates are eligible for a 3-year age relaxation.
4. As for individuals with a background in the armed forces, they can avail up to 5 years of age relaxation, subject to the length of their service in the defense forces.
