The National Testing Agency, on behalf of the University Grants Commission, conducts the UGC NET exam biannually for 82 subjects. Sanskrit Traditional Subjects in one of the 82 subjects. We will discuss the UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects syllabus and exam pattern here. Like the other subjects, from June 2019 onwards, Paper III has been removed from the Sanskrit Traditional Subjects UGC NET syllabus. General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (Paper I) and the subject chosen by the candidates (Paper II) are evaluated now.
- 100 multiple-choice questions will be asked in the UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects Paper II.
- In June 2019, the UGC NET Cutoff for Sanskrit Traditional Subjects was 72.00 for JRF and Assistant Professor, and 5 candidates appeared for the examination.
- In December 2018, the cutoff for the same was 64.67, and 3 candidates appeared for the examination.

UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects Exam Pattern 2025
Let us look at the UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects exam pattern for Paper II. It is equally important as the UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects. Two papers are in the UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects examination-
- Paper I- General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude (Compulsory for all)
- Paper II- Sanskrit Traditional Subjects (chosen by candidates)
The examination authority will ask the questions in Paper II in Hindi only. 100 multiple-choice questions of 2 marks each to be asked in Paper II of UGC NET Sanskrit Traditional Subjects. The examination will be conducted in the Computer Based Test mode.
