Question
Download Solution PDFShould the real time instruments like CRO and DSO be time invariant ?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFConcept:
A time-invariant system has the property that a certain input will always give the same output (up to timing), without regard to when the input was applied to the system.
In this figure,
x(t) and x(t−t0) are passed through the system TI.
Because the system is time-invariant, the inputs x(t) and x(t−t0) produce the same output.
The only difference is that the output due to x(t−t0) is shifted by a time t0.
Analysis:
CRO (for cathode-ray oscilloscope), or DSO ( digital storage oscilloscope), is a type of electronic test instrument that graphically displays varying signal voltages, usually as a calibrated two-dimensional plot of one or more signals as a function of time.
CRO and DSO produce the same output for even delayed input, So they must be time-invariant.
