Question
Download Solution PDFHow many litres of water can be stored in a tank of 1 m length, 1/2 m breadth, and 1/2 m height?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Length of the tank = 1 m
Breadth of the tank = (1/2) m
Height of the tank = (1/2) m
Concept used:
Volume of a tank = Length × Breadth × Height
1000 litre = 1 m3
Calculation:
Volume of the tank = (1 × 1/2 × 1/2) m3
= 1/4 m3
Now, as we know that:
1m3 = 1000 litre
0.25m3 = 1/4 × 1000 = 250 litres
∴ 250 litres can be stored in the tank
