Concept:

Suppose  R= 2 ohm

                 R= 6 ohm

                 R3 =12 ohm

V = I * R

V = Voltage source

I = Current source

R = Value of resistance

R2 and R3 are in parallel =  \({\mathbf{\frac{R_{2}\times R_{3}}{R_{2}+R_{3}}}}\) = R23

R equivalent = R23+R1

I = \(\frac{V}{R_{Equivalent}}\) 

Calculation:

V = 12volts

R23 = \(\frac{6\times 12}{18}=4\Omega \)

 \(R_{Equivalent}\)= 4+2= 6 ohm

I = \(\frac{V}{R_{Equivalent}}\)\(\frac{12}{6}=2A\)
