Ratio of quantity of alcohol and water in vessel A = 5 : 2

Ratio of quantity of alcohol and water in new mixture = 1 : 1

 

CONCEPT :

In this type of question, we use the mixture and allegation method.

 

CALCULATION :

Quantity of in vessel A = 5/7

Quantity of vessel B = 3/10

Quantity of alcohol in the mixture = 1/2

Ratio of alcohol and water in which they are mixed

⇒ (5/7 – 1/2) : (1/2 – 3/10) = 3/14 : 1/5

∴ Required ratio in which quantity of vessel A and B are mixed =14 : 15
