Given:

The average weight of 15 people increases by 1.2 kg

A person weighing 51 kg is replaced by a new person.

Concept used:

Average of N number of quantities = (Sum of N quantities)/(Total number of quantities)

Calculations:

Total increase in weight = 15 × 1.2 = 18 kg

This increment of weight is because of the replacement of a person of 51 kg with a new person

This implies that the new person weights 18 kg more than the person whose weight is 51 kg

The weight of a new person = 51+ 18 = 69 kg.

The answer is 69 kg.
